Furness Wind Farm
The possible renewable energy farm site sits on agricultural land at Standish Cote Farm, immediately to the west of the Harlock Reservoir and Harlock Hill Wind Farm and not far from the existing Askam and Kirkby Moor wind farms. Infinergy is currently looking at the Furness Wind Farm site for a project with the potential to deliver up to 18.4 megawatts (MW) of electricity, enough to supply renewable energy to over 10,000 households*. The project could save between 17,500 and 42,000 tonnes* of CO2 every year by replacing energy supplied from the grid mix. The wind farm has an estimated lifetime of 20-25 years. After that time, the turbines can be decommissioned with minimum disturbance to the site.
